Greenhaven Neighborhood Church

Greenhaven Neighborhood Church is a community of men and women who love God personally and show His love practically in many ways. We truly desire to have real-world ministries for the neighborhood. Below are a few ways that you can connect with the church both to receive rest and encouragement, and to participate in practical blessings for others.
The pastor of a local mega-church once told a group of people: “If you want a real Christ-like life, go to work in one of His churches that need your spiritual gift or talents”. I agree, so if you would like to be part of any of the ministries below, please send the pastor or church office an e-mail expressing your interest.
Around the World Bring Love In is… A community of people across the world who are working together to bring love in to the orphans and widows of Ethiopia. Responding to the biblical call that each of us are made for more. Will you rise up and be a part of this community? You are wanted here. Celebrate Recovery The church has successfully completed Celebrate Recovery programs and is preparing for another one soon. You may be thinking that recovery is just for people with alcohol or drug problems. The truth is that many of people have simply created unhealthy methods for handling life and have actually incorporated life dominating sins into their lives. This program can help you identify the thoughts, words, and deeds creating problems in your life and provide Godly ways to overcome them.

We are supporting an overseas mission called “Bring Love In” with missionaries Levi and Jessie Benkert.
Community Food and Clothing Drives
We have adopted the “Downtown Ministries” as our local Missions effort this year. Downtown Ministries primarily assists women and children living below the poverty level. Emphasis is on ensuring adequate clothing and nutritional food.
We are planning at least two food and/or clothing drives in the Greenhaven/Pocket area in 2011. We really could use neighborhood coordinators simply to drop off information at the homes in their area and then to pick up the food or clothing on the date advertised. This would be a fun and very meaningful way to connect with the church.
Community Senior Care
There are several Senior Assisted-Living Centers in the Greenhaven/Pocket area. We are just starting a program to help these centers with their spiritual and fellowship needs. We are thinking of musical presentations, times of prayer, devotional times, and even worship services. Of course, there are those special times throughout the year such as Valentine's Day, Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas where special services could be made available.
If this is also your heart's desire we would love your help making the program to seniors a worthwhile one.
Men's Ministry
The Men will be meeting quarterly for a bible study breakfast this year and we are looking for a retreat center. If you would like to be part of the men’s group or have retreat ideas, drop us an e-mail.
Neighborhood Care and Prayer
We pray for our neighborhood. If you have a prayer request please use the “Prayer Request” drop box and many prayer groups will lift your request to the Lord.
If you are a prayer warrior and would like to pray with others in the community or go on pray walks with others this would be a good place to connect with our church.
Small Groups
Home-based groups of 8-12 people and are comprised of men, women, senior adults, or couples. Groups meet throughout the week at various times and locations.
We have two wonderful curriculums for small groups by the way.
· The Truth Project from Focus on the Family
· The Foundations of Apologetics
Both are 12 week DVD studies with lessons and discussion guides.
Student Ministries
We have bible studies on Sunday mornings and a variety of evening activities and then times where we can just hang out.
Women's Ministries
Whether you’re single, married, single-again, with or without children—no matter where you’ve been or what you’ve done—we invite you to experience kindness and genuine friendship here at Greenhaven Neighborhood Church. The women are very active in the church being part of missions, bible studies, prayer groups,
Worship Music Ministry
From age to age, music has been a vital part of worshiping God. There are many ways to worship, and music is one of GNC’s favorites. The sound of many voices joining in unity for one purpose is a beautiful expression of our love for God. You are invited to become a part of our worship ministries, where we learn to worship God in spirit and in truth.
